Mykhailo Rychkov
Mikhailo Rychkov was born in 1968 in Kharkov, Ukraine. The artist graduated from the Repin Art School and worked as a graphic designer and illustrator of children's books.
Mykhailo's artworks demonstrate both poetic and a realistic vision: look at the highlights on the housefronts, the shimmering sea, the heavy rain clouds. His watercolors are about feelings and sensations, not specific objects. According to him, the key advantage of watercolor is that one can take a set of watercolor paints, hit the road, and paint at any moment when inspiration strikes. He also says that color doesn't matter much to him because the most important thing in a painting is the story.
Mikhailo often conveys his inspiration in quick landscape sketches: minimalist drawings with bright watercolor accents, conveying the urban atmosphere and unique color combinations of seascapes. Artist took part in national and international exhibitions, his works are in frequent collections in Ukraine and abroad. Now lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.
